Description:

Liqueur making is as old as civilization itself. In fact, the recipes and techniques have not changed much since the Middle Ages. Carefully selected seeds, herbs, fruit and essential oils are macerated or distilled, and then fortified with alcohol and sweetened. Liquor Quik has sourced the best essences from Northern Europe, where the old world style of extraction is still very much a treasured art. These essences are then blend and bottle in an old-fashioned glass collector's bottle.

 

LIQUOR QUIK - Mixing Guide for Liqueurs

 

ALL liqueur recipes require 25 fl. oz. (725 mL) of 20-30% alc./vol. of alcohol. Add approximately 1 fl. oz. (29 mL) of glycerin and/or Glucose (Corn Sugar) as an optional thickener. All liqueurs yield between 28-31 fl. oz. (810-900 mL).

 

SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS # 1:

 

  1. Choose your alcohol base: Generic Vodka, Whisky or Brandy or your own alcohol base made from Super Yeast. To make a low alcohol liqueur, substitute 20 fl. oz. (580ml) of the alcohol with distilled water.
  2. Choose your favorite flavor from our selection of 24 classic Liqueurs and spirits.
  3. Add the correct amount of sugar to sweeten liqueurs.
  4. Add corn sugar and/or glycerin (finishing formula) to taste.

The final product is ready to drink but will improve in taste if left to age two weeks.

SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS # 2:

 

Pour: the contents of the Liquor Quik bottle into an empty quart bottle (or into the blender).

 

Add: sugar syrup (or plain sugar and water into the blender).

 

Fill: the quart bottle with base spirit (or to the 32 oz line of the blender).

 

Using Blender: Pour extract, sugar and water into blender. Add spirit to the 32 oz. line. Blend at medium speed for 2 minutes until sugar is dissolved. Let stand until air bubbles are dispelled. For sweet liqueurs, use 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of water. For medium liqueurs, use 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water.

 

For Smoother Liqueur: Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of Glycerin. Liqueurs will also mellow with age.

 

Classification:

 

Sweet - Use 2 cups of sugar syrup (made by boiling 2 cups of sugar syrup with 1 cup of water).

 

Medium - Use 1 cup of sugar syrup (made by boiling 1 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup water).

 

Brandy - Use no sugar.
