We highly recommend purchasing dry yeast during the warmer months. While we offer a complimentary ice pack with all liquid yeast orders, the combination of warmer temperatures and shipping times makes it difficult for your liquid yeast to remain chilled.

Made famous by several breweries in New England and along the East Coast this style of IPA is definitely different than your typical West Coast IPA. The two biggest characteristics of this style is a very hazy appearance (why, I don't know), and a very juicy hop character. 

The appearance part is easy. Use lots of hops and don't use any kettle or secondary finings to try and clear the beer. The juicy hop character comes from massive late addition hops and chloride rich water. Because the water plays such an important role in this beer we recommend using a good quality spring water and add the included package of calcium chloride to your brewing water.

Tasting Notes: This beer pours a hazy gold to orange in color. You will love the tropical fruit aromas from the huge dry hop addition. Plenty of hop bitterness up front to remind you that this is an IPA, then big, juicy tropical fruit and citrus flavors from the massive Whirlpool/Steep addition. Hop flavors linger begging for another sip. Just enough malt character to showcase all of the hops with a bit of Rye to keep things interesting. Very easy drinking for a Double IPA.
