The Strong Belgian Dubbel has a robust nose with a big kick of spice up front from the Belgian yeast and cloves. Following that is the bready caramel malts. Has hints of toffee, brown sugar, and coriander. This beer has a lot of complex dark fruit flavors. Notes of rum-soaked raisins, plums. prunes, grapes, dates, and figs. Pours a dark and cloudy brown with a hint of amber. This is a real treat. Not too sweet, but nice and complex. Makes 5 gallons, or approximately 48 bottles of beer.
